A Visit to Daddy's office

What a great afternoon we had wrecking havoc at Iain's office. Fortunately nobody seemed to mind as it was Friday and they were all looking for an excuse to get out of working. Ty had the ladies of the office charmed right away and they were all entertaining him letting him photocopying his hands and stamping envelopes... He thought he was doing really work. He got himself comfortable in an empty office very quickly.Iains VP left the office early so Iain and his co-worker prepared a "pink slip" for him that said his services were no longer needed as Ty would be taking over his position. Ty signed it with his hand print too. It was really cute. Let's hope the VP thinks so too...

(Vanessa had a great time exploring Daddy's office too.)

Last but certainly not least - last night Iain was at a "BOMA" dinner/awards ceremony. It's like the Academy Awards of Property Management for properties in Ontario. One of the buildings he manages was up for an Award of Excellence. Well, not only did he win the award for Excellence his building won "Building of the Year". They now move on to the Nationals in Halifax in September. I guess he really does get some work done afterall. LOL!

Pretty in Blue!

Vanessa & I had such a nice time this morning playing on the floor in my bedroom . She has a small repertoire of tricks she can do now (of course whenever I try to show anyone she refuses but I know she can do them) She can wave, clap her hands, shake her head "no" and when we ask her "are you sick?" she forces out a fake cough. When I pick her up out of her crib in the mornings I tell her "put you nuk (soother) in the crib" and she takes it out of her mouth and drops it. She is getting bigger and changing everyday. I just love the mornings we have together. I remember being pregnant with her , I was so sure (and worried) that there was no way she was going to be able to get ahold of my heart the way Ty had but she has proven me so wrong. I still look at her in amazement that she is MY little girl. How did I get so lucky??

Very Busy Few days

What a great weekend we had. Saturday morning Mary, Dawn (my neighbours) & I headed to the spa for a few hours of pampering. The guys took the all kids out for lunch and had them all napping by the time we got home. It was such a relaxing day. That night we had the neighbours over to celebrate Iain's birthday. We got the kids set up with popcorn and a movie while we enjoyed a delicious meal. (we ordered in) It was a great night! (The kids were excited to eat their popcorn and watch a Wiggles movie)
(The food was so good I couldn't get anyone to stop eating for a picture)
Sunday morning we headed over to the Real Canadian Superstore because Dora was going to be there. The kids were excellent waiting patiently in line and it was so worth it when we saw how excited they were when they finally got to meet Dora. Ty ran up and hugged her and gave her a High-Five. The store gave us a Polaroid of Ty beside Dora as well. He walked around all day showing everyone the picture and saying that he "met Dora and she was very big". LOL!

(Ty greeted Dora with a hug)

After meeting Dora we did some errands at Costco then took the kids to Applebees for lunch. From there we headed over to Planet Gymnastics for Carter's (my nephews) Fifth Birthday Party. The kids had a blast on all the equipment and Iain and I had a lot of fun too...

(Jumping on the trampoline with Vanessa)

(Iain -rolling Ty around the room)

And it's not over yet- This morning we had a playdate with my matron of honours brothers wife (got that?) and her new baby boy and 2 year old daughter. Ty was very sweet inviting them in and asking Brooklynn if she wanted to share his toys with him. It was great to catch up with Lana and hold her little 5 week old boy Jesse (her hubby is a huge Monsters Garage fan) Holding that baby really made me feel like I could do it again soon...Here's hoping.

**(I'm having trouble uploading pictures of our playdate so they will be coming shortly)**

It's been a fantastic couple of days but now I'm going to enjoy my two kids napping by putting my feet up and having a cup of tea.

Happy 30th Birthday Iain!!

After a beautiful morning of playing at the park Ty had a nice nap and was refreshed to help me decorate Iain's birthday cake. You can see by the pictures what a big help he was...

The afternoon dragged on as Ty was anxiously waiting for Iain to get home to surprise him with the cake. My parents & Iains dad & sister all joined us for birthday cake and ice cream. Ty was in his glory singing and blowing out the candles. We did try to get a nice family picture which actually would have been really good if it weren't for the fact that I couldn't wear makeup - my eyes were still in pretty bad shape. (pink eye)

It was a great birthday night for Iain but it's not over yet. We continue the celebration on Saturday with the neighbours.

A Picnic at the Park

We had a gorgeous sunny morning so I picked the kids up from preschool and took them for a picnic at our park. Ty & Nolan had a great time playing together and Vanessa swinging and watching the boys run around. Tonight we celebrate Iain's 30th Birthday so more pictures are coming. For now though - here are the kids at the park this morning. (I realize now that Ty's hat might have been a bit big for him but at least it covered his face) LOL!

Happy Easter!!

The kids and I just got back from a great weekend in Strathroy visiting our very close family friends (practicallly cousins since we call the parents Aunt & Uncle) Ty and Vanessa had a great time playing with their little friends and I had a very nice time catching up with everyone. Since I was on my own (Iain stayed home to study/golf/ride his bike) I was a little worried about how the night would go given the bads nights I've been having for the last 3 months. Ty went down at 8:30pm with no problem and only woke up a couple times for a drink but I was in the bed beside him so he really didn't have anything to complain about. Vanessa was a little tougher to put down - she didn't react to well to sleeping in the playpen so Papa (my dad) cuddled with her until she fell asleep and once she was in the playpen for the night she woke up a few times but was easily comforted and went right back to sleep. Overall I'd say I probably got a better night sleep on that air mattress with my 2 kids beside me then I've had in a long time. (pretty sad)

(Vanessa & Georgia all ready for dinner)

(Ty & Makenna dancing around having fun)

We got home yesterday afternoon to find the Easter bunny had been to our house. Ty had a great time running around finding Easter eggs while Vanessa watched. (Vanessa wasn't too sure what to make of the eggs in her basket) (Ty loved finding Easter eggs all over the house)
Last night Iain got the kids bathed and ready for bed and we all had an early night.
We've got a week full of birthdays coming up so I'm hoping the kids will start sleeping a little better. They are going to need their rest.

A Beautiful Spring Weekend

I started the weekend off right with dinner with the girls at this little Malasian/Chinese/Indian restaurant in downtown Whitby called Wah2. Dinner was delicious, the stories and company even better. It was a great night out. Saturday was pretty uneventful. I had an apt. to get my roots touched up (the gray hair coming in was getting out of control) then we decided to invite the neighbours to join us for dinner at Red Lobster. Of course we completely forgot there would be an hour long wait so we ended up at Pizza Hut instead. It was still a fun dinner- maybe not as tasty but the kids enjoyed it. We headed back to the neighbours place after dinner for ice cream and the kids played until about 9:30pm. Sunday morning we got a sleep in (neither of my kids are sleeping through the night so I really needed it). That afternoon Iain pulled his bike onto the driveway to give it a wash and Ty joined in- first to help daddy with his bike then realized he would rather be washing his own bike. It was such a sweet moment!! Now if only this nice weather would stick around...

Ty's new haircut

I took Ty to get his mop of hair cut this morning. He was so good letting the hairdresser use the clippers & cut & style his hair for a good 20 minutes. He is so relaxed at the hairdressers. Before we left I tried to get some "before" pictures of him. Apparently all that hair was making it difficult for him to smile and open his eyes at the same time...

And here is my little boy looking so grown up with his new hair style- gel and all. The front was actually spiked up a bit originally but his hat flattened it. He won't stop checking himself out in the mirror now. I think he's pretty happy with it...I know I am.
