This year the guilt of never having had a birthday party for my youngest little guy has finally caught up to me. Unfortunately we just have not been able to find a free day or night to actually have a proper party so to make up for it Troy has now had 3 birthday celebrations- with another one coming tonight. On his actual birthday Ty had a baseball game until 8pm so we came home and sang and had cupcakes after that.
Last night once again we headed back to Lone Star for a 3rd round Happy birthday with Adam and his family. It was also Adam's birthday last week so that worked out well for both families.
Tonight Iains dad and sister are coming by so I've made sure to have the cupcakes ready for them.
After tonight Troy will have had 4 mini parties which makes me feel a little better about the fact that I haven't actually put any effort into a party for him. Maybe next year will be his big party year. I'm not ready to make any promises to that and anyway he seems thrilled that his birthday has been going on for a week now.
On another note though - my baby boy is 4 years old now. He is seeming older and more mature especially over this past summer. He has got the most entertaining personality - so silly, happy and very enthusiastic one minute but with just one false move he's giving me the
look of death, crying, whining and trying to beat me up. That boy keeps me on my toes for sure. He is still my baby - climbs into bed with me a lot of nights and I have a hard time moving him b/c I know this is it for me. I still find myself trying to help him get dressed, buckle up - all things he lets me know he can and prefers to do by himself now. :( I do try to enjoy his independence, but I am definitely clinging to this little guy and not encouraging him to grow up quite as quickly as the older 2 are. I so look forward to seeing what excitement he is going to bring into our life in this coming year. Happy Birthday to my cheeky little man!
