Our weekend visits & misc. update

Well I got a great baby fix this weekend. We went to visit Iain's best man & his wife and their new baby girl Mackenzie Jaye. She is an absolute doll- didn't make a peep the whole time. Ty was quite intrigued by her too. I think he is really excited about having his own baby around the house- soon enough. After lunch and a nice visit we headed over to one of my friends from University to visit with her & her family. The kids had a great time together and dinner was delicious!!

Sunday we had a quiet day. Iain took Ty to the "outdoorsmen" show and Vanessa & I did a bit more shopping for her new room. It's really coming together - nothing has actually been done yet but the furniture has been ordered, a window bench & built in shelves have been ordered, the shutters for the window have been ordered and as of today my SIL found a Duvet cover and sheet set that I bought and love!! Next on the list is curtains, pillows, bedskirt, quilt... lots of pink. We have to pick out paint colours & Iain has to get the moulding on the wall. Obviously a big work in progress right now. The goal is to get Vanessa into her big girl room in 8 weeks. We'll see how that goes though.
I've posted a picture of myself as of last night- I was just home from the gym which explains the outfit. I'll be 16 weeks on Friday and can not believe how fast this pregnancy is going. My doctor's appointment went well today- I've gained 9 lbs so far but I'm not surprised. I'm so much bigger this time around then I was with the other 2. That's okay with me though- I figure this is my last time to have a great excuse to be fat so I'm going to take advantage of it. Of course I'm still going to the gym and being healthy but not as obsessed about my weight gain as I was with the other 2. I'm enjoying it much more this time.

(Feb 26th - 15 weeks & 3 days and already popping out!)

Cousins...Best Friends

I just finished one of my favourite scrapbook pages. It's not very fancy or creative even but it almost brings tears to my eyes looking back on the past 3 1/2 years that Ty and his cousin Nolan have spent together. They are growing up almost as close as brothers would. They went to play groups together, preschool, now Montessori school, skating lessons, they spend weekends together, summers swimming at Nana & Papa's pool, they had their first trip to Disney together and they are already competing for girlfriends at school. It's just so nice to know that Ty will always have his cousin there for him. They are truly best friends.

(Here are the two little men yesterday enjoying an after school snack sporting the shirts & shark tooth necklaces that Nana & Papa brought them back from Hawaii)

A quiet weekend

...but we needed it. What a nice relaxing weekend we had. Saturday Iain took Ty to the fishing show for the day so Vanessa and I got a bunch of errands done. I started looking for bedding for her new "big girl" room and I was able to get a bit of scrapbooking done as well. That night Iain was at the hockey game so the after I got the kids into bed I got caught up on all the shows that I PVR thoughout the week. I was in bed by 10pm.
Sunday Iain had to help my dad & brothers move my Papa's stuff out of his condo so I took the kids to the park to do a bit of tobaganning. They had a great time but afer an hour I was bribbing them with Hot Chocolate to go home. LOL! I don't know why they don't feel the cold.

They both had a nap/quiet time so I was able to relax a bit before Iain got home. Iain was tired after moving furniture all day so while he relaxed on the couch the kids kept themselves busy.

(Vanessa loves to copy anything Ty does - and she usually succeeds)

Finally to end the weekend off in a relaxing way we took the kids out for dinner- (no cooking or clean up for me so I was thrilled). It was a great weekend now back to the grind. I have so many lists of things I want to get done that I don't even know where to begin. Perhaps getting myself and the kids dressed would be a good start. LOL!

Our weekend at Great Wolf Lodge

What a great weekend! We arrived in Niagara at 11:30am and were able to check in right away. Ty was so impressed with his sleeping arrangements in the "Wolf Den".

After lunch we headed straight to the water park. The kids were overwhelmed with all the fun stuff to do.

Vanessa had a great little ride on the lazy river with Iain and almost fell asleep on his chest.

Check out the maternity bathing suit I'm sporting. LOL!! They really don't make nice swimwear for pregnant women.

Vanessa decided to try the big slide since she saw Ty having so much fun.
The front lobby was enough in itself to entertain the kids. The moose & bear both spoke and told stories. The kids just stood there staring in awe.

Finally a quiet ride home after an action packed couple of days. (Yes my kids are holding hands as they sleep- Awww!!) The kids were awesome though and slept really well. Iain and I were able to actually hang out in the room after they fell asleep and watch "The Departed" (which was great BTW). It was a great trip. We are hoping to plan at least a few more weekend getaways this year.

Another Chuck E. Cheese Party and more weekend fun

Another weekend has come and gone - man time flies when you've got two kids and a crazy schedule.
Saturday morning I was on a mission to shop for 2 things. A new TV stands for our bedroom (our TV has been sitting on the floor since Christmas and I'm sick of it!!) and secondly a new shower stall for the Master Bathroom. Iain thinks I'm crazy b/c what started this was a small crack in the tile that has led to a small leak that made me realize I hate tile in the shower and would like to replace it with acrylic and since we'll be doing that let's knock out the drywall and get glass walls... Okay so maybe it's a bit crazy but it was fun to shop for. I haven't committed to anything yet but I'm looking into wall jets...LOL!!
Saturday night we had a very nice dinner at one of Iain's co-workers house. They have a 5 year old son who was just as energetic as Ty so they wore each other out while Vanessa tried to keep up.
Sunday afternoon was our neighbour Julia's 3rd b-day party at Chuck E. Cheese. The kids had a blast and once again wore themselves out that night. By Sunday night Iain and I were worn out as well and we're in bed at 8:50pm. We are refreshed and ready for another busy week.
Yes my daughter is wearing leg warmers and she was the most stylish girl at Chuck E. Cheese that day. I wish I still had leg warmers now. LOL!
Ty put on quite an entertaining show while we ate pizza & cake.
