Over the last couple of weeks I've had the very fortunate opportunity to spend a lot more time with my nephews - My brother and Melanie's boys are pretty much mine as far as I'm concerned. Ethan - their oldest will be 16 on May 16th. I adore this kid - such a good boy. Over the past year he has babysat for me regularly which has allowed my kids to get to know him really well and they adore him. Truly just a good kid. Love him!!

A couple weekends ago the two youngest boys (Carter and Nolan) needed a place to stay for the night and Iain was in Iceland at the time so I quickly volunteered to have them stay with my kids and I'm so glad that I did. We had a fantastic night. Carter turned 11 this past April and I can honestly say I have never met a nicer boy. He is so polite, will say hello to anyone he has met even once and is almost always smiling and happy. He greets with me a hug everytime I see him. I remember holding him when he was a baby (before any of my kids were born) and saying to Iain how much I hoped our own kids would just be as happy as he was. Nolan is a month older then Ty (turning 9 in June) and is a very funny little trouble maker - Troy is most like him. On the other hand though he is so uncharacteristically sweet to my kids. He will give Vanessa piggy back rides, will cuddle with Troy on the couch and although he is not much older then Ty he is well aware that he is much stronger at the sports Ty loves (Hockey & Lacrosse) and he will take Ty outside to help him work on his shot and give him tips and pointers. Never boasts about being better, never a cruel word - always just encouraging and supportive. I feel so lucky to have such wonderful boys for nephews and so fortunate they are cousins to my kids.

I love that these kids are so close!
This past weekend Iain and I attended his cousin Gordon's wedding. (Our 3rd wedding of the year so far I might add) A beautiful ceremony and a wonderful fun filled night spent with the Kelly's :)

It is always so nice to have family close by. I have to remember to appreciate it more often. :)
