Welcome Sunny Days!!

We've had another couple of busy weekends - on top of the kids lacrosse and hockey schedules we've fit in a few minutes of fun. Iain's mom is retiring and her co-workers through her a very nice surprise BBQ as couple weeks ago. As she came into the backyard everyone yelled "Surprise!" except my kids who ran up to her yelling "Happy Birthday Grandma!" LOL!
Waiting patiently for a piece of "birthday cake".

Last weekend we enjoyed a beautiful long weekend. So nice to have some consistent sun now. Sunday we headed over to neighbourhood friends for a good ol' cookout. Delicious food, great company, cold drinks and fireworks to boot.
Watching the fireworks...
This coming weekend is going to be a challenge... We have Troy's lacrosse, Ty's hockey, Troy's lacrosse pictures, Ty's lacrosse pictures and Vanessa has her dance recital- 2 shows... and that's just Saturday... and just to make it even more interesting Iain is leaving for Muskoka that afternoon for the night. He's riding in a charity bike ride all day Sunday. So needless to say I'm kind of looking forward to Monday for a rest. As long as the sun keeps shining this weekend I have a feeling it will be just fine. :)

Home for a rest... literally

I have no idea what happened to me last week but we got home from Cuba and I pretty much slept for the week. I would wake up, get the kids to school and come home for a nap, pick the kids up get through their evening activities the whole time thinking about when I could get back into bed. I slept for 11 hours some nights only to continue feeling exhausted the next day. Anyway I gave myself the weekend to continue with the lazy behaviour but forced myself out of bed for a run this morning and will continue to keep myself awake as much as I can this week. So far so good- no naps and it's already Monday night. lol!
So quickly, our trip to Cuba... gorgeous weather, bordeline rude staff but lots of alcohol, and the kids had a blast... and here are the pics...

Troy and Adam were inseparable and absolutely adorable together

And finally, this past weekend was Mothers day... and I LOVED the gifts the kids made me. It was a great day- we went mini putting and out for dinner. The perfect day spent with my reasons for being...
